A safety valve came with the heater and has recently started to leak from the nipple.

Leaking may be cause by the old pipes or by the water heater overflow pipe of hot water heater pipe leaking. If the tank is leaking there must be internal leak of hot water heater. Hi hope someone can help. There may be a lot of reasons hot water heater leaking. The threads are the thinnest part on the nipple and it is not unusual to find leaks in them. I have fitted it in a chalet which is only used a few times a year by the owner.

A leaking drain valve can be identified by moisture or water dripping either out of the drain opening or around the valve itself. No leaks and nice hot water.
